Nashville-based artist Eva Cassel is a unique combination of effortless vocals, infectious grooves, and poignant lyrics. Wielding a strat or a rubber bridge guitar, Cassel draws you into a captivating cinematic world. Whether it’s the syncopated groove, lilting melody, or brutally honest lyrics, she allows both the front row woo girl and the quiet back row attendee to feel seen. Cassel was one of five songwriters selected to perform for John Mayer at a songwriting clinic at Berklee College of Music in which Mayer described Eva’s writing as thorough, sincere, and thoughtful. Since then Cassel has toured nationally, released two EP’s, spaces you crawl in between and Rinse Repeat, and shared the stage with Artists such as Katie Pruitt, Daisha McBride and Leah Blevins and many more.
'Somebody Else' is the manifesto of the Boy Scout rule as it applies to relationships: leave ‘em better than you found ‘em. A relationship doesn't fail just because it ends if you each leave a better version of yourself.
"This song is about a very formative relationship that I said I was over long before that was true."
Cassel's past two EP’s each contain a song about this relationship. It's a beautiful progression of falling in love, having trouble moving on, then finally letting go. “Somebody Else” is the first single off of an upcoming EP, “Amatuer Love” (2024)
